I went out at 6am and got gas at Gasoline Heaven/Gulf by Spare Rib in Commack. I only waited about 20 minutes even though the line went down Harned Rd. When it was my turn they said they had less than 2800 Gallons left, about an hrs worth. Heard now it's out of gas. Yonkers has now started a 10 gallon fill limit for customers.

Went out today to 7 stations (had a few rude attendants who just sat and laughed and i understood what they said and gave it right back) and 5 were out but three had 2 hour lines --- hess 347, hess 347/111 and then just decided to head home because I was burning more gas searching and going around police stops then being successful. Might give it another shot later or just let hubs go out later tonight and let him have fun with the fighting, cursive drivers and mostly curteous neighborly station customers.

As of Friday, couldn't find anything between St James and Deer Park open that didn't have a half-mile gas line.

If anyone out there knows how to siphon gas from a newer vehicle (2002 or later) please let me know how it's done. Almost all vehicles made after that date have anti-siphoning devices built in and i can't get a drop out of the tanks. I have almost no gas for the generator but I have 2 additional cars in the driveway with about 30 gallons of gas total. Wish I could get to that gas, it would cover me for about another 6 days of power.

If they don't get some gas distributed over the weekend, people are going to have trouble getting to work on Monday, myself included.
