West Islip Weekend Planner

We've got a list of events happening around the area this weekend.

The West Islip Fire Department Fire Police Squad is hosting it's Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. on the field adjacent to West Islip Library. In addition to the hunt, there will be raffles, door prizes and the chance for kids to get their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Admission is $5 for children, adults are free.

Head to Belmont Lake State Park Saturday for the 20th Annual Spring Egg Hunt, which begins at 12:15. In addition to the hunt, there will be a petting zoo, temporary tattoos, pony rides, environmental crafts, a visit by the Spring Bunny and more.

Our Lady of Consolation hosts its 7th Annual Pot of Gold Dinner and Raffle on Sunday at 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy a traditional Irish dinner, a performance by Irish step dancers and more. You can also enter to win a $10,000 grand prize.

This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
