For many of us, a three-day weekend is on the horizon. If you're looking to get out and do something this weekend, we've put together a list of events happening in an around West Islip to give you some ideas.

The ice skating rink at Tanger Outlets at The Arches is open and ready for skaters. A live DJ will keep the beats going Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

At the West Islip Public Library, those who own ereaders can learn how to download books from the library and other helpful tips. The class takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Folks should bring their ereader with them.

Fitzgerald's Driving School in North Babylon is offering a 5-hour prelicensing course starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The class costs $55.

Community members are invited to share a free homemade meal at Westminster United Presbyterian Church in West Islip on Sunday at 4 p.m. All are welcome.

All The Perks Cafe in West Babylon hosts a poetry open mic night on Sunday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
