West Islip Dog Missing

Blackie went missing on Monday night.

A West Islip dog has been missing since Monday and his family is asking for the public's help to bring him home.

The male mixed breed dog, named Blackie, went missing from Gridley Street at 7 p.m. on Monday. He was then seen across Bay Shore Road near Udall Avenue around 9 p.m. Monday. He was last seen on Thursday on the southbound Sagtikos Parkway between Bay Shore Road and Pine Aire Drive.

Blackie is 9 years old, is black with brown undertones and has white chest marking. He is 60 pounds and has chow spots on his tongue. He is wearing a choke/chain collar and is not chipped.

If he is spotted, do not chase him as he has run from a good samaritan who was trying to capture him.

If you see Blackie, contact Paige at 631-258-5823 (cell) or 631-243-2338 (home).
