A new planter designed by the West Islip Beautification Society now sits at the eastbound entrance to West Islip on the Sunrise Highway Service Road.
The brick planter features colorful, freshly planted flowers and a large sign welcoming visitors and residents to the hamlet.
President Donald Boyle extended a special thank you to Gary Misner of Misner Auto Body, whose donation funded the planter.
The Beautification Society maintains close to a dozen other planters in the area, including one erected earlier this year on the corner of Bellmore Ave. and Udall Rd.
