Three Generations Make a Mark at Good Samaritan Hospital

Hospital employment is a family affair for the Riso clan.

When it comes to working at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip it's a family affair for the Riso clan.

Not only did dietary staff member, Francis Riso, turn 19-years-old this week but his father, Bryan, a laboratory technician has worked for the hospital since he was the same age. Several years ago the father and son were joined in their commitment to Good Sam by the senior Riso, Mario, who after retiring decided to return to the workforce and joined one of the hospitals dialysis units in Bay Shore in supply management.

Like his father who is pursuing his nursing degree, Francis is studying physical therapy. Three generations working in different areas of the hospital are all integral threads in providing health care to the community.
