The Week Ahead: Lionheart Fundraiser, Fire Department Election

A look at events happening locally this week.

On Tuesday, West Islip residents can vote in the West Islip Fire Department election. One commissioner seat is up for grabs. Voting will take place at the firehouse on Union Blvd. from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Lion's Den is hosting a viewing party for the 12-12-12 concert for Sandy victims. Specials will be offered all night starting at 7 p.m., and a portion of proceeds wil benefit the West Islip Lionheart Foundation.

The Board of Education will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Families across West Islip are encouraged to take part in Lion Lights on Saturday, by leaving a special candle lit at your curbside starting at 7 p.m. The event will honor those who are struggling to recover from Sandy. To find out how to get a Lion Light, click here.
