School Budget Worksession

7:30 p.m.,

The next school district budget meeting will include presentations on the proposed budget for the 2012-2013 school year in West Islip School District. Parents and residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice their opinion during the meeting.

10 a.m. to 9 p.m.,

Cast your vote for the 2012-13 annual library operating budget and one 5-year Library Trustee position. Incumbent Trustee Mary Alice Markham is running unopposed.

Wednesday

7 p.m.,

Looking for a way to blow off some steam on hump day? Café Mojo hosts its “mind-bending” trivia contest. The questions can be tough, and the song rounds are challenging, but teams seem to get through it okay, either learning a whole lot of useless trivia facts or realizing they are smarter than they thought.

Wednesday

4:30 p.m., Sachem High Shool East

Cheer on the girls Varsity Lacrosse team as they face off against Sachem East in their sixth match of the season.

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
