The Week Ahead: Blood Drive, Community Holiday Party

Plan your week around these local events.

On Tuesday, the West islip Fire Department is hosting a community blood drive at the firehouse on Union Blvd. from 2:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. All donors will receive a free scarf and pair of gloves. You donation could save up to three lives.

Teens in grades 7 through 12 can learn how to make a Memento Board during Teens Night Out at the library on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The West Islip Library Board of Trustees will hold their monthly meeting at the library at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Get in the Christmas sprit and enjoy a performance by the St. John The Baptist choir at the school's annual Christmas Vocal concert, which takes place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

West Islip High School will host its second annual community Holiday Party Thursday, Dec. 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $5, and will benefit Catherine and Kristin Reinhold, who recently lost the mother, Margaret Reinhold. Festivities will include live performances, refreshments and a visit from Santa.
