Photos: P.S. I Love You Day 2014

A sea of purple spread across the nation Friday.

The third annual P.S. I Love You Day was celebrated across Long Island and the country on Friday.

Founded by West Islip High School senior Brooke DiPalma in 2012, P.S. I Love You Day is an extension of the campaign of kindness created in memory of DiPalma's father Joseph, who committed suicide in 2010. The movement has grown to support individuals suffering from depression, suicidal thoughts and bullying.

"Today has been one of the most magical days," DiPalma wrote on the P.S. I Love You Day Facebook page Friday afternoon. "I cannot thank you enough. I cannot wait to see how the love is spread tomorrow, the next day, the next year."
