West Islip American Legion Attends Veterans Day Breakfast at Consulation Nursing Home

Members of the West Islip American Legion attended annual breakfast with resident veterans. American Legion members assisted staff with serving breakfast to the veterans there.

U.S. Marines Who Served in Iraq & Afghanistan Unload Turkeys 

The Marines say they hope their efforts will lead others to help Island Harvest and Long Island Cares meet the needs of the hungry in this difficult economic period.

Hi all! I am a Commack resident and graduate presently working as a special education teacher in the Bronx. I teach children with multiple and severe disabilities who are growing up in high poverty areas that we couldn't even imagine raising our children in. 

Pajama Program Visits Head Start


Petti Cellura from The Pajama Program visited Huntington Head Start on Monday November 25 to hand out brand-new pajamas and books to the children of Huntington Head Start. The pajamas were donated by residents of The Arbors, an Assisted Living Community.
