Fundraiser for Woman Injured in N. Babylon Car Accident

An online fundraiser for a woman hit by a car earlier this month in North Babylon has been started, seeking $20,000 to help her pay for a new prosthetic leg.

Babylon Village resident Cerice Caprio was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon near the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant on September 2. The crash left the 32-year-old woman in critical but stable condition.

According to a fundraiser page stated on Giveforward, Caprio sustained multiple life threatening injuries and remains in stable condition.

The Village of Lindenhurst has moved two fire companies out of the Lindenhurst Main House on South Wellwood Avenue to the house at Fireman's Park effective immediately as of Wednesday. 

Deputy Mayor Kevin McCaffrey announced the move Wednesday as work on the demolition and reconstruction of the Main Houseramps up.

Babylon School District students are using a brand-new system after a summer of new additions to the school's technology, including the use of Google Chromebooks in the classrooms.

Carole Polney-Marinello, who is currently the district's Coordinator of Assessment Data, Learning, and Technology, presented the changes to the Babylon School Board during a work-study meeting held on Monday at Babylon Junior-Senior High School.
