Monday's Events: What's Happening in West Islip

Local events for Monday, Aug. 6.

Monday will start with a bang, quite literally – thunderstorms are expected throughout the morning and could be serious. Storms should clear up throughout the day though, with West Islip seeing highs of 86°.

Head to the for at 7 p.m. Jackie Morrison will lead you through guided relaxation techniques with the goal of reducing stress and leading a healthy life. Be sure to bring a mat or blanket with a pillow for support.

Give the kids an unforgetable adventure with the  at Cedar Beach Marina! Campers ages 6-12 will explore Long Island’s marine habitats on the beautiful south shore beaches in Babylon. Unique specialized sessions for ages 6-8 and for 9-12 offered by Cornell educators. US Coast Guard visits campers to teach marine safety and protecting the waters from pollution. Each week costs $225 and starts at 9:00 a.m.
