According to PSEG, Oyster Bay had the highest concentration of outages with 572. Meanwhile, 470 outages were reported in Islip, 317 in Hempstead, 369 in North Hempstead and 150 in Smithtown.

We are in Hampton Bays/Westhampton. We don't want to hear about North Hempstead power outages, thanks.

Patch's new format is terrible. Bring back the local news. I don't care about California, Georgia, Denver, Chicago etc. There are plenty of sources for that.

I really miss the commentary back and forth. There were many lively political debates.

We need to see the local goings on, not western Suffolk.

This is under "News/Around Town".... How is this article "around town" when I am in Madison?

Set up this article so it can be printed out. That way we have the email address, the texting address and the phone numbers right where we need them in our homes.

hate this new format a lot. go back to the old way.

Not gonna happen. Patch just laid off 90% of its staff prior to a new owner taking over. They are not bringing back local news since it was a money loser.

I'm in Long Beach, and join you folks in this craziness with no local coverage. Not to mention, this "snow update" is a day old. This story really could have been "called in" by anyone with Internet access anyplace in the world. Same with all the absurd news about Chinese New Year, cookie recipes, etc. which stay posted for days. Unfortunately, it's a done deal. I saw our former excellent editor Joe Kellard has already updated his resume online, lists Patch as "former employer " up to o January 2014.
