Letter to the Editor: Support Local Scout Project

Buy an engraved brick to help local reach Eagle Scout rank.

This summer, I am working on reaching Eagle Scout rank.  In order to complete the requirements for this rank, I am conducting a Leadership Service Project at .  I will be constructing a 6-foot by 12-foot brick walkway adjoining to a presently existing concrete slab in the rear of the school.

I would like to ask for your assistance and participation in this project.  To supply funds for this project, I am ordering engraved bricks that will be put into the brick walkway with plain bricks.  For $50, donors (single person, families, groups or organizations) can have their names engraved on these 4” x 8” bricks.  Of this money, $25 will go to the purchase, engraving, and shipping of your custom brick.  The rest of the proceeds from each brick sale will go to support my Eagle Scout Project.

By contributing to this project, you will not only help to provide a new walkway to Oquenock Elementary School and the children who attend, but you will also assist me as I complete the last few steps of my journey on the trail to  Eagle Scout.

If you would like to contribute to my project, please email me for an order form.

You may also purchase your brick online through a secure online store at:  https://www.bricksrus.com/order/eaglescoutproject until July 11.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.

Yours in Scouting,

Marc Anthony Minicozzi / Eagle Scout Candidate, Troop 194

You can thank all these POS politicians for the new gun legislation designed to make law abidingRead More citizens give up their second amendment rights out of sheer frustration and incontinence of owning a gun legally for increases in savage on citizen violence. This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Has anyone been able to find out if we are losing money renting this building to this for profitRead More preschool? If I under stood correctly from previous post's, there may be some friendship with one or more BOE members which paved the way for their lease.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.

Why didn't the author run for the open seat this year? Bark of a wolf and courage of a lamb.
