Husky Runs More Than A Mile to Visit Owner at Good Sam

Zander left his Bay Shore home in search of his ailing owner last week.

A husky named Zander left his home in Bay Shore and traveled to Good Samaritan Hospital last week, the Associated Press reports.

Zander's owner, John Dolan, was recovering from a leg ailment at the hospital at the time.

According to the AP, the 70-pound dog slipped out of his home at dawn and ran about a mile and a half to the hospital. A stranger called Dolan to alert him that the dog was across the street on Montauk Highway after finding his contact information on Zander's tag.
