Saturday Night Cruise LI Road Gents

When/Where: , 187 Sunrise Hwy, West Islip (Saturday, 5-10 p.m.)

What:  The Long Island Road Gents are holding a Saturday Night Cruise at Bob's Stores.  The Gents are a family oriented club which features cars and trucks of all kinds.  Founded in 2006 in West Islip, this event is to support a local business and enjoy cars from all different models.

Pricing: Free

Evening with Italian Singer Giada Valenti

When/Where:  305 N Service Rd, Dix Hills, NY 11746 (DHPAC At Five Towns College) (Saturday, 7:30 p.m.)

Why Go:  Giada Valenti is an accomplished Italian singer who is recognized for her special voice and stage presence.  She has performed on the red carpet for the Columbus Day Parade, named Woman Of The Year By The Organization Of Italian Charities In America, and was honored By The Order Sons Of Italy In America.  For more information, please visit: http://www.dhpac.org

Parent Child Art Workshop

When/Where:  , 3 Higbie Ln, West Islip, NY 11795 (Saturday, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

Why Go:  If you have children, and love art, come down to the West Islip Public Library for a workshop on how to communicate with your child and visa-versa through art.  It's a wonderful form of creativity that can enhance the relationship between parent and child greatly.

Islip Arts Council Free Concerts - Bayard Cutting Arboretum

When/Where:  440 Montauk Highway, Great River, NY 11739 (Bayard Cutting Arboretum) (Sunday, 2:00 p.m.)

Why Go:  The Bayard Cutting Arboretum is a New York State Park that was donated to the Long Island State Park Region.  It is a beautiful location and ideal spot for outdoor summer concerts.  Visit the Arboretum (starting at 2 p.m.) for a Sunday filled with music and outdoor magic.

Pricing: $8.00 parking fee

This is only the beginning and in short time many New Yorker's will be forced to remain in their homes fearing one of these animals will make them their pray. I for one believe in the old adage, it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I think Proposition 2 is a great idea, in the current structure you have to "call out" anRead More individual basically saying "I think you are doing a particularly bad job". Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
