Fatal Crash Wakes Up West Islip
Accident at 5 a.m. on the corner of East Bay Drive, leaves one dead.
A female passenger died when the Lincoln Town Car she was riding in hit a utility pole in West Islip early Tuesday morning.
Jenny Daprino, 23, of Bay Shore, was a front seat passenger in a 1995 sedan that was traveling east on Montauk Highway, near West Bay Drive, in West Islip when the vehicle veered off the road, struck a utility pole and rolled several times around 5 a.m.
Daprino was transported by West Islip Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where she was pronounced dead, according to Suffolk County Police.
A second occupant in the vehicle, Angela Commisso, 21, of Lindenhurst, was also transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center to be treated for head injuries and a fractured clavicle. Commisso was listed in stable condition.

The road was closed for hours because of wires that were knocked down from the crash.The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
Detectives are asking anyone that witnessed the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential. Police are also seeking assistance from the public in locating a female with tattoos, wearing a red dress at the time of the incident, that may have witnessed the crash but left the scene before detectives arrived.
