The West Islip Chamber of Commerce will hold a dedication ceremony for the newly constructed 9/11 Memorial Saturday morning.
Members of the community are encouraged to attend the unveiling, which will take place at 9 a.m. at the corner of Higbie Lane and Paumanake Avenue.
Designed by the West Islip Chamber along with the West Islip Beautification Society, the monument features engraved memorial bricks and benches for residents to sit and reflect. A piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center site serves as the centerpiece of the memorial.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast at Farrell's of Brooklyn immediately following the dedication.
