Dan McShane Advances in "Jeopardy!" Tournament of Champions

West Islip native in the running for a $250,000 grand prize.

Dan McShane made his return to the "Jeopardy!" podium Monday night, securing a spot in the next round of the Tournament of Champions.

The 25-year-old West Islip native took second place in the first-round match, earning him a spot in the semifinals.

Fans can catch him next on Thursday at 7 p.m. on ABC. If he advances, he'll earn a shot at the grand prize of $250,00 in a two-match final, airing Monday and Tuesday. 

McShane, who currently resides in Brooklyn and works as a bartender, garnered laughs from the crowd when he correctly answered “What is bartender?” to the clue “Sam Malone, Nick Miller” in the category “The TV Character’s Job," Newsday reports.

The St. Anthony's alum is competing in the Tournament of Champions after earning last year.

Politics get dirty enough as is and I think this will increase participation and ultimately give us a better Board of Education.
