Cruising Through Craigslist: Sporting Goods Edition

A look at what the folks of West Islip are selling on Craigslist this week

Who needs Modell's or The Sports Authority when you have perfectly good used sporting goods in your own neighborhood?   Just because summer is dwindling doesn't mean outdoor activities have to come to a halt.  The seller of these items obviously don't think so.

As always, we'll start with the Item of the Week.

Weight Bench (Item of the Week)

Save on gym membership fees with this home weight bench/free weight set ($300). Comes complete with curl bar, tricep bar, and multiple free weights.  Motivation sold separately.

Kayak

Not just any kayak, but a golden papaya-colored Hobie Odyssey deluxe two-seater for $600.  Instead, we recommend Gray's Papaya, where you can get two hot dogs and a soda for under $5.

Paintball Kit

This seller is getting rid of all his paintball equipment for $200.  Includes a few guns and energy gas tank.  Perfect for West Babylon's Island Paintball or for really ugly shirts.

Saddle

That's right, this person is selling a junior Pessoa saddle.  The equipment (saddle, whip, chaps, brush and pads) is meant for ages 6-12.  But they're forgetting the most important part…the horse!

Skateboards

Owner of these two skateboards- mountainboard and Kryptonics skateboard- is asking $100.  Is that for the hospital deductible?

Trampoline

Seller claims this trampoline ($500) is the "world's safest." Just like how the Titanic was the "unsinkable ship."  Coincidence?  We think not.

Lacrosse shaft

Here's something most West Islip resident will love; a brand new STX Sc-Ti Pro lacrosse attack shaft ($130).  Let the bid wars begin!

Tent

This seller is offering up his two-room family, 10x14 Winnebago tent for only $50.  They say it was "used only once, kept in garage."  What kind of camping experience is that?
