Community Input Sought on Post-Sandy Revitalization

Workshop focus is aimed at revitalization in West Islip, Sayville and Oakdale.

The New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program will hold a public open house workshop next week to gain community input and recommendations for the development of a community reconstruction plan for those areas hit hard by last Fall's super storm Sandy.

The workshop will be held from  6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the West Islip Fire House, at 309 Union Boulevard, on Tuesday, September 17.

Public input is being sought in distribution of federal Sandy funds for the communities of West Islip, Oakdale and Sayville.

The NY Rising program was established to provide additional rebuilding and revitalization help to communities hit by Sandy, Hurricane Irene and tropical storm Lee.
