Chamber 9/11 Memorial Dedication Rescheduled for Saturday

Monument will be unveiled at 9 a.m., followed by a complimentary breakfast.

The West Islip Chamber of Commerce is hosting a dedication Saturday for the newly constructed 9/11 Memorial.

The ceremony will take place at the memorial at 9 a.m., on the corner of Higbie Lane and Paumanake Avenue. A complimentary breakfast will immediately follow. Attendees are asked to park at Boyd Spencer Funeral Home.

Originally scheduled near Veteran's Day, the unveiling was postponed following the damage of Superstorm Sandy.

A piece of steel from the World Trade Center will serve as the centerpiece of the memorial, in remembrance of those who lost their lives and were affected by the tragedy.
