Before & After: Satellites Capture Sandy's Damage

NOAA satellites captured aerial photographs of our nearby shores following Hurricane Sandy.

Hurricane Sandy did more than damage homes, destroy cars and knock out power – the superstorm changed our shorelines.

The National Weather Service has released these satellite images from hard hit areas following the hurricane's arrival on Long Island. For ease of viewing, we have included an image from Google Maps taken earlier this summer.
