St. John's to Host "Libraries Change Lives:" A Dialogue with Barbara Stripling, ALA President

St. John’s University’s Division of Library and Information Science will host “Libraries Change Lives:”A Dialogue with Barbara Stripling, 2013-14 American Library Association President, on Saturday, March 15. 

Ms. Stripling will discuss her 2013-14 presidential initiative, Libraries Change Lives, which focuses upon ALA’s continued support for fulfilling the promise of libraries. The initiative’s goal is for all libraries to join with their communities and support its members in achieving their aspirations with a primary focus framed around three areas of transformative practice:  literacy, community engagement, and innovation.

Also speaking at the event will be Christian Zabriskie, Assistant Coordinator of Young Adult Services of the Queens Library & Founder of Urban Libraries Unite, where he will be sharing his transformative initiatives.
