Things need to change

I am saddened and angry at the tragedy that has devastated this town . The Labetti family is in my prayers and thoughts, though I have never met them. No family should have to endure such an avoidable heartbreak.I do not know where to begin, but something HAS to change around here. These roads that our kids walk and ride thier bikes and skateboards on are too dangerous. I blame the drivers and I blame the lack of stop signs. Everyone is in such a hurry to get to that football practice, dance class, grocery store, etc. Slow the hell down. Enough is enough. You will get where you are going! Another problem, PUT THE CELL PHONE DOWN! NOTHING is that important, if it is...pull over. Our children are all over these roads, and some of them are careless too, so please watch where YOU are going and get back to JUST DRIVING. Do not be impatient, do NOT be careless!And STOP at a crosswalk. I see cars just flying through the one in front of the bagel store on Higbie while people are trying to cross. I believe the first change should be US. The second change should be more stop signs on Udall. It will slow us all down, make us pay attention. I do not know how to get this done, as it took YEARS to get one on Higbie as we requested. This whole town needs to get involved now. I don't mean to preach, or blame, I have 2 kids who walk to thier friend's house and I worry every minute they are out. When they are older, they will be walking and riding thier bikes even more, as some of your kids are too. We need to change the roads. We need to contact the right people and get stop signs on Udall. And we NEED to SLOW DOWN and drive safely. I do not know how to start petitions, who to contact, so any help would be appreciated. Suggestions, something. If someone would point me in the right direction, I will try to do something to make it a little safer, if I could.
