Is Peyton Manning the Greatest Quarterback of all time?
G Gullan February 1, 2014 at 12:49 pm
Peyton was my mother's favorite football player. She even enjoyed his commercials. I feel thatRead More Peyton has proven to be an excellent NFL QB and if Denver wins it will add to his legacy as well as being icing on the cake! Seattle on the other hand has a great defense, Percy Harvin is back at WR and their QB Russell Wilson can be a game changer! I'm betting on a great Super Bowl!
Joseph Morello February 1, 2014 at 04:14 pm
Your Mother must have a great eye for talent.
The Seahawk defense was the NFL's best.
Louis Florio January 30, 2014 at 02:49 pm
Peyton Manning and the Denver offense do have their work cut out for them, but then again so doesRead More Seattle. They say, that a good offense negates a good defense. I guess we will see for ourselves. Nonetheless, there could not have been a better Super Bowl match up this year then the one we will be watching this Sunday!
Denver's receivers need to have a good game against Seattle's 'Legion of Boom'.
Louis Florio January 29, 2014 at 12:46 pm
What was said covers it all Joe. But I'm wondering, will the frozen tundra of MetLife Stadium, be anRead More advantage or disadvantage to Wilson's scrambling capabiltities?
Joseph Morello January 29, 2014 at 06:37 pm
I think that a frozen field would benefit the Broncos because the slippery footing would slow downRead More the Seattle defense and make it harder for them to intimidate the receivers with big hits. But it looks like the game is going to be played in pleasant conditions. At least pleasant for Ground Hog Day in the North East.
Workers remove snow from MetLife Stadium following yesterday’s storm.
Louis Florio January 24, 2014 at 04:29 pm
Jerry Jones built Cowboys Stadium ( now known as AT&T stadium ) for 1.6 billion dollars. This isRead More the exact same amount or even less then that of Giants Stadium ( now known as MetLife stadium cost ) AT&T stadium has as a DOME.....go figure.
Louis Florio January 24, 2014 at 04:32 pm
Keep in mind my figures were just estimates, but I believe I'm in the ballpark.
Joseph Morello January 24, 2014 at 04:32 pm
It will be interesting to see what the weather brings that day.
Peyton Manning is headed to New York and a meeting with destiny.
Joseph Morello January 20, 2014 at 10:47 am
Strenght against strength.
Louis Florio January 20, 2014 at 03:46 pm
Both teams are used to playing in inclement weather. 8 games every season in sometimes brutalRead More conditions. I don't think the weather will hamper either team, unless there is a snow blizzard that day. The one thing, in my opinion, that they need to concern themselves with, is the strange wind conditions at Metlife Stadium that can happen anytime throughout a game, as I understand it and been told.
Joseph Morello January 20, 2014 at 04:22 pm
Yes, wind can be a problem. Although the new stadium has not been as windy as the old there hasRead More never been a game played there in February. Who knows what the wind may be like on game day?
The Final Four.
Louis Florio January 17, 2014 at 01:09 pm
It is hard to add to what was already said, all intelligent summations. Denver/NewRead More England...whichever defense plays the best...wins. Seattle/49ers...whichever defense plays the best... wins. That's it in a nut shell, which is only my opinion.
Joseph Morello January 17, 2014 at 03:44 pm
Let the best defense win!
Two all time greats play for the Conference Title on Sunday.
Joseph Morello January 15, 2014 at 01:09 pm
Both Manning and Brady love the competition and both are still performing on a high level.
Matthew Weinberg January 15, 2014 at 07:25 pm
Manning has been able to do so much more with so much less over the years. I can't remember PaytonRead More having a great defense as a Colt and as a Bronco. So its my opinion that Manning is by far better than Brady. Oh please dont think that I'm selling Brady short, he is awesome and I would want him on my team any day. but Manning has done more with less tho.
Joseph Morello January 16, 2014 at 08:01 am
I don't think you can go wrong with either as your quarterback.
Peyton Manning is three wins away from the greatest season ever by an NFL quarterback.
Louis Florio January 9, 2014 at 07:09 pm
Joe, You have said it all. There is really nothing else, that I can think of, other then, I thinkRead More that this weeksend's game may have one of the highest viewing audiences. If one is a true NFL football fan, regardless of team loyality, they will be watching. I know I will and I love the Giants!
Joseph Morello January 9, 2014 at 07:18 pm
Yes the games should score high ratings. Especially with Brady and Manning on in prime time eachRead More night.
Even after a poor season, Eli Manning is still the face of the Giants.
Louis Florio January 8, 2014 at 05:14 pm
I think Tuck stays. The players coming into the NFL, via the draft, are younger these days then inRead More the past. I think this is due to a lot of college players opting out and entering the draft before finishing their college careers. Therefore, experience and maturity takes longer to cultivate. This is just my opinion. I think the Giants should mix it up, draft and free agency. With free agency, they may get some veteran players who are good and still have some vital years left.
Joseph Morello January 8, 2014 at 05:24 pm
I can't agree with you more. Right on down to Tuck staying. But it has to be at a discount. And IRead More think Tuck realises that. I also agree that free agents are needed for stability but Tom Coughlin has to be more open to playing younger players and getting what he can out of just their talent alone. Too often he wastes players because they are prone to mistakes. Sometimes talent makes up for mistakes.
Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith was exceptional in a losing effort against the Colts.
christopher.morello January 8, 2014 at 11:00 am
Nice analysis in pointing out a really good performance from Smith. I always thought he got a rawRead More deal in SF throughout his career. Unfortunately, as great as he played the entire game, he was a few inches too long on one pass where, the receiver would have walked into the end zone and they likely would have won the game. That said, all in all, Smith played his butt off. What stood out was that the Chiefs game, and the better part of their season, encapsulated Andy Reid's career as a head coach. His teams typically perform well in the regular season. Quarterbacks shine under Reid, more than under other systems (AJ Feeley & Kevin Kolb were all the rage in Philly for a time). And ultimately, his game management kills him in tight spots. Albeit, the defense gave up a 28 point lead!! But, the last few minutes of the KC game were eerily similar to the playoff games that Philly played over the past 10 years while losing late. Its a shame, I would have liked KC to win the whole thing this year and really drive Philadelphia fans nuts after complaining about Reid for years.
Giants President John Mara still believes GM Jerry Reese is the right “guy” for the job.
G Gullan January 1, 2014 at 12:15 pm
I agree that the Giants will retool and be back in the hunt next year. However I think they need toRead More use a hurry up offense to keep defenses on their heels. That also need to use new formations on offense as they have been predictable this season.
Halford January 3, 2014 at 05:39 pm
let's be honest...the state of sports in NY.. The Giants, Jets, Knicks and Nets ALL STINK.... hardRead More to imagine that this could be the way it is in the biggest and best city in the US
For at least one day fans can wear their hats proudly.
G Gullan December 23, 2013 at 12:11 pm
I must agree that both the New York Giants and the Jets seem to be in a little bit of disarray. OneRead More of the things that we don't see either team have is a sophisticated offense; example the Eagles. The Giant run the same plays every week. They run the worst screen plays then any other team in the NFL. The Jets roll out trying to use the athleticism of their QB and seem to be confused about not doing that all the time for some odd reason. Sometimes change is the best thing! Is change in the air? We'll have to wait and see.
Hakeem Nicks has not scored a touchdown this season.
G Gullan December 19, 2013 at 09:55 am
Nicks is afraid to catch the ball over the middle! He is, as you mention, inconsistent and should beRead More led out to pasture. It's time to get players who make things happen. He is not one of them!
