Reminder: PAWS Gala on Friday
Annual gala will honor three members of the West Islip community.
The 8th Annual Partners Advancing West Islip Schools (PAWS) Gala takes place Friday evening at Captain Bill's Restuarant in Bay Shore.
The event will raise funds for programs and equipment for use by local students in schools across the district. The marks PAWS' largest fundraiser of the year.
This year's honorees are Scott Craig, physical education teacher and boys lacrosse coach, recieving the Outstanding Educator Award; George Smith, current Board of Education Trustee and former BOE president, receiving the Outstanding Community Member Award; and Jeanne Koeper, retired administrative assistant to the superintendent, receiving the Friends of PAWS Award.
