Good Sam Doctor Saves Patient's Life

Ralph Barbato is the hospital's most recent winner of their Physician of the Quarter program.

Ralph Barbato, doctor of osteopathic medicine at Good Samaritan, was recently recognized for saving a patient's life, the hospital reported.

Barbato was nominated by Connie Gennaro, of Brentwood, who credited the doctor for saving her husband's life.  Good Sam said that  Barbato discovered that Legionella was causing Mr. Gennaro’s kidneys to fail, and ordered that he received urgent dialysis treatments.

“If it weren’t for Dr. Barbato, my husband would be either gone or on permanent dialysis.”  Gennaro told Good Sam.
