Bridges Academy To Open at Kirdahy School

New private school serving children through eighth grade will open in September.

A new private school will soon take up residence in the shuttered Kirdahy Elementary School in West Islip.

The Bridges Academy, a reincarnation of St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Day Episcopal School, is slated to open in September in the building on Snedecor Avenue, which has remained vacant since Kirdahy closed in June due to declining enrollment.

St. Peter's By-The-Sea, in Bay Shore, will close on June 30 after serving the community for 40 years.
